What is the future of our city? We ask about the future because the present is not looking that great. Our taxes are high – chamber members who are looking to expand their businesses are quick to point out to us that in their research, many cities of comparable size in southern Ontario have lower tax rates.

Our Committees
The foundation of a successful Chamber of Commerce is an active committee structure. Throughout the year, committees made up of volunteer members meet monthly or when ever it is deemed necessary, to address specific goals and objectives related to the present and future prosperity of the St. Catharines - Thorold area business community.

We invite you to combine a combination of commitment, expertise and interest with respect to participating in one (or more) of its committees. In other words, do you have 3 or 4 hours a month to promote the best interest of the community in which you live and work? If so, become an active member of one of these committees, take a chance and share your business knowledge and skills with others by being involved in the local business community.

The following committees work on behalf of the St. Catharines - Thorold area business community:

  • Business Achievement Awards (Event)
  • Communications Committee
  • Curling Bonspiel (Event)
  • Education Committee
  • Fall Classic Golf Tournament (Event)
  • Government Affairs Committee
  • Membership Committee
